This private wine tour allows you to combine a visit to Bilbao with a wine tour of selected wineries in the Rioja region ending with a wine activity in Logroño (Rioja’s Capital).

WINE TOUR RIOJA – DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1- Arrival in Bilbao
Arrival in Bilbao and transportation to hotel. Free day in the city
Hotel Domine Bilbao is facing the Guggenheim Museum. The GHBD expresses a contemporary concept that avoids ostentation and promotes fun. The project is infected by its neighbour, the Guggenheim’s, activity and offers a space that contains a selection of furniture that represents the most emblematic design from the 20th century. Its singularity consists in the application of a concept of integral design, of great, formal coherence, carried out by Javier Mariscal and Fernando Salas with their respective teams

Day 2 – Bilbao – Wine tour La Rioja Alavesa
(Labastida – Santo domingo de la calzada)
Clients will be collected at Bilbao hotel to start a full day wine tour to La Rioja Alavesa (located in the Basque Country-15 minutes).
Travel to Labastida to visit Remelluri winery and enjoy a gourmet lunch in the winery (lunch includes wine Remelluri reserva). After lunch travel to San Millan de la Cogolla village (near Santo Domingo) to visit the Yuso and Suso Monasteries. Arrival at Santo Domingo for check in at theSt. Domingo Bernardo de Fresneda. Dinner at the Parador restaurant

Day 3 – Wine tour La Rioja Alta
(Haro –Briones- Santo Domingo de la Calzada)
Clients will be collected at the Parador to start a full day wine tour to Haro, the most famous Riojan village dedicated to wine in the north of the region (1 hour). Day will consist on visiting two wine cellars as Bodegas Roda and Torre Muga.
After lunch we will go to Briones (15 minutes) to visit the Dinastia Vivanco Museum. Return to Santo Domingo and free afternoon to visit this small village.
Back to accommodation and free dinner.

Day 4 – Logroño
(Santo Domingo – Fuenmayor – Logroño – Bilbao)
Clients will be collected at the Parador to travel to Logroño, Rioja’s capital and the biggest city in the Region, although not so big as to lose its welcoming and friendly character.
Day will consist on a wine activity in the morning (3-4 hours). The wine activity in begin in the center of Fuenmayor being taught about the beginnings of winemaking regarding the history of the village. Then we go to the vineyards, where you are explained about different features of grape growing (orientation, soils, cares of the vine…) At the time the group visits La Rioja, we will quite surely be taking samples of the grapes to check their ripening point or doing the harvest. After a typical snack in the vineyard, we will go to a traditional cellar, where you will be able to follow the winemaking process and take part in different moments of it. Afterwards you will taste wine directly from the barrels and you will be able to bottle your own bottle of wine that you can bring back home personalized in the label.
After the wine activity lunch in Logroño and short visit to the famous Laurel street.
Alfter lunch travel to Bilbao for accommodation at Silken Domine.
