DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1- Barcelona – Terra Alta

Collection at Barcelona. Transport to selected hotel. Rest of afternoon free. Gastronomic dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 – Terra Alta

Breakfast at Hotel. Transport to Villalba dels Arcs for a guided visit to a wine cellar with wine-tasting lead by eonologist of the house. Transport to a regional restaurant to enjoy a typical catalan lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the Batea village which is the second largest town in the county, with 2,000 inhabitants. The river Algars forms the boundary between this municipal district and the land of Aragon. In the surroundings of this locality there are remains of diverse cultures and peoples, such as Coll del Moro in Borrasquer and Tossal del Moro in Pinyeres. In 1153, Ramon Berenguer IV donated this land to the Templars and in 1317 it was inherited by the Hospitallers, together with the now uninhabited towns of Pinyeres and Algars. During the War of the Reapers, the Castilian troops pillaged Batea. Transport to the hotel and dinner.

Day 3 – Terra Alta – Barcelona

Breakfast at hotel. Today we will enjoy ciclyng the green way of Terra Alta (beginners level) which will take us from Horta de Sant Joan to Pinell de Brai. The Green Way is a touristic, cultural and sports proposal which follows part of the route of the old railway, now asphalted.The itinerary crosses the Pàndols and Cavalls mountains, an area with spots of pristine beauty where one can enjoy peace and silence in the midst of Nature.It leads through areas that show a surprising diversity of landscapes, where rural settings devoted primarily to dry farming alternate with mountainous wooded areas marked by the abrupt shapes of sheer rock walls, canyons, gorges, narrow passages and small dams formed by the river Canaletes. We wil stop at Fontcalda Sactuary to have luch and rest. After finishing the green way at Pinell de Brai return to Barcelona at around 1730 hrs.
